I posted a large square dinner plate by Heath Ceramics, Sausalito, California on my Etsy store yesterday.
Heath Ceramics designed these plates for their Plaza line the 1980’s. The plates are a nice large size, which can also serve as a charger.
These square plates in the Plaza line is still manufactured by Heath Ceramics in a variety of sizes and sold through their website and retailers.
I’m curious though, why my particular square plate measures 11.5″, while the website, brand new plates are 12″. Does it have to do with the age?
And speaking of its age…it would be great to find a resource for the age of Heath pieces by the logo design (and why the backs of the square platters are unglazed).
Any suggestions?
